     (15 to 20 cases per session): $ 1,200 per person
for groups of at least 3 people.

a major Medical Center, in Cleveland, OH and
a major Health Care corporation.

SUMMARY:
Duration:
Variable; daily, weekly or monthly;
One day visits only on Mon, Wed or Fri;
Weekly visits can include Cardiac MR cases on Tue and Thursday.

Tuition:
$ 1,200 for half day Observation of our Clinical Cardiac CT Practice (from 1 PM till 7 PM; Mon-Wed-Fri)
$ 1,200 for 3 hour Read-with-expert Sessions from 9 AM to NOON (call us to book).
$ 15,000 for one month *
(we offer a 50% tuition discount for a technologists who accompanies a physician)

* Lower monthly tuition is for 100% research fellowships only.

Fellowship & Course Location:
Today your training will be in Cleveland, OH.

In the recent past (2005-2006) training used to take place in three state-of-the art Radiology Imaging Centers in Winston-Salem, in the state of North Carolina, in the USA (see map below).
Prior to that , training was in Dallas, TX and Los Angeles, CA.

Winston-Salem, in the western part of North Carolina, is within 30 minutes by car from the the Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) in Greensboro . Winston-Salem is located in Forsyth county, which is part of the North Carolina Piedmont Triad area.

Winston-Salem is a very nice city with several visitor web sites describing events and activities, and several great universties. There are many fine restaurants and hotels in Winston-Salem, NC. You can enjoy and discover Winston-Salem's many Bed&Breakfasts. Bring your laptop, and enjoy free Wi-Fi on 4th street in Downtown Winston-Salem ; it is now possible to conduct business while dining at one of Winston-Salem's sidewalk cafes or sitting on a bench in the downtown area.

The Faculty for the Visiting fellowships prior to 2007 did consist of practitioners from several great academic and private practice radiology and cardiology groups in the Winston-Salem Metroplex area, including some of the centers listed below:

We may (some days) also have guest faculty from vendors,
such as Siemens Medical Solutions, Inc. or terarecon or others.

Facilities prior to 2007:
Maplewood Imaging Center (MIC) - location of Conference Room for morning & noon lectures
Greystone Imaging Center (GIC)- Location for CT hands-on classes (afternoons)

Salem MRI Center - Location for MR hands-on classes (afternoons). These facilities and their addresses are all described on the Forsyth Radiological Associates (FRA) web site.


 

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITES:
1) Attend one of our Courses;

2) Read one of the recommended textbooks (see above), or
              attend a 2-day weekend CVI Course as offered by the ACR or NASCI or IAME or SCMR or AHA or ACC

Visiting Fellowship Description: Introduction to Coronary CT Angiography practice and interpretation.

CT Equipment: SOMATOM Sensation Cardiac 64 and LEONARDO workstation; TeraRecon WorkstationsDuration: Variable; daily, weekly or monthly;
One day visits only on Mon, Wed or Fri;
Weekly visits can include Cardiac MR cases on Tue and Thursday.

Outline: The Visiting Fellowship can include a course syllabus, didactic lectures (taken from our Cardiac CT Course Syllabus) and case review of Coronary CTAs. We only offer lectures for visitors who stay 2 to 4 days . Training activities typically include observation of patient examinations and hands-on sessions with advanced 3D post-processing during three afternoons per week (Mon, Wed and Fri). Lectures start at 9 AM. Patient scanning starts at noon time and study post processing and case interpretation can last till late in the evening.

Disclaimer #1:
If your Visiting Fellowship time period is cancelled or post-poned you can either get a REFUND, or be automatically re-registered for another period. If you purchase advance air travel and hotel accomodations, you will be responsible for any added travel-related costs in case of cancellation or postponemen to the next period.

Disclaimer #2 for afternoon OBSERVATIONAL VISITING FELLOWSHIPS: As we do not fully control patient flow and when patients schedule their Cardiac CT examinations, we can not guarantee how many patients will have a test during your short Visiting fellowship. We are still in the process of optimizing patient flow. For one-day visitors we will review older CT examinations if no new examinations are scheduled. Most of our Cardiac CT scanning takes place between 2 PM and 5 PM, but there is an extensive patient preparation process starting around 11 AM. Post-processing and analysis of Cardiac CT studies is done after 5 PM and can continue the next morning (next morning session not included in 1-day visits). No syllabus provided. These visits start at 1 PM. There are no activities planned in the morning. There is always the options of also booking a Read-with-Expert session in the morning, but only on selected days.


Disclaimer #3 for READ-with-EXPERT Sessions: these are 3 hour READING SESSIONS: We plan 3 hour reading sessions from 9 AM to noon time, and can never predict if we will have network or computer crashes. The start of reading sessions may change depending upon urgent patient care issues. Please call ahead to reserve a spot. If more than 3 people wish to attend, the price increases by $1,000 per person. No syllabus provided.
